Tennis Bubble Installation Delayed

During prep work for the Tennis Bubble installation, we discovered a necessary repair is required for the heating system.   This repair will cause a short delay in the opening date.  As more information is available we will update our tennis community. Please read the below information regarding upcoming programming.

OCTOBER CLASSES
All October tennis classes and lessons for both adults and juniors will run as scheduled on the tennis courts at the Sports Pavilion with the exception of days when work is being completed.   Those days that require changes to class locations will be announced in advance by email and in signage at the courts.

We will make adjustments for all players who register for an October class or program based on when we move indoors so that we are charging the appropriate rates for indoor vs. outdoor play time.  This adjustment will be in the form of a credit toward the next month’s program.  Credits will be put on the player’s account and applied automatically at the Sports Pavilion front desk. Adjustements will be made once the bubble is up.

FALL FLIGHT PLAY
We intend to continue the women’s daytime flights outdoors at the Pavilion courts until the bubble opens.  Flight participants will be contacted individually by email with details.  The night time flight participants will be given option to start now or in November.  Night time flights will be played at the LAKES courts under lights.

CONTRACT TIME
Contract time will not start until the bubble is installed.   A $100 per court deposit is required for all contracts.  The remaining balances will be calculated based on the number of weeks of play once we move into the bubble.

Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience this might cause you as a member of our tennis community.  We value your patronage and know that your enthusiasm for our programs is what makes them such a success!  If you have any questions, please feel free to email us at tennis@ashburnvillage.org or call 703-729-0581.

No Courts Available Jan. 30-Feb. 1

Due to the Junior Tennis Tournament scheduled for next weekend (Jan. 30-Feb. 1), the tennis bubble will not be available for personal court reservations during these days.

Courts will be released if they happen to become available, however, due to the size and levels of this event, availability is highly unlikely.

Great Season for 3.5 Slice Girls!

Ashburn, VA - November 2, 2008 - The Ashburn Sports Pavilion sponsored 3.5 Slice Girls tennis team’s exciting national championship run in Tucson Arizona ended Saturday. The team played an excellent team from Northern California. The match went down to the wire with the Northern California team edging the Ashburn ladies 3-2

In the match, the Slice Girls got wins from the doubles team of Dana Glaudemans/Jackie Thompkins and singles player Kristin Wohlfert. Unfortunately, the third win necessary was just out of reach. The team fought extremely hard and definitely took the strong Northern California team to the wire.

The match ended a tremendous season for the AVSP Slice Girls and will stand as a magnificent accomplishment for all the players and coaches.

Congratulations Slice Girls!

Special Thanks to Coaches Ken Whitaker, Branden Beets and Captain Marla Jackson
