On Saturday June 4th at 8:30pm, Ashburn Village families came out in droves to watch “A Night at the Museum” on a Giant Inflatable Movie system at the Lakes Recreation Center dock.

Parents: bring the kids and bikes out to the Pavilion parking lot from 12 - 3pm on Sunday, June 10th for an afternoon of fun safety education. This event is in memory of Ryan Bickel.

Bike Rodeo
Kids can take on the challenge of the obstacle course and have their bikes inspected by bicycle mechanics. Information on bicycling safety will be available with various helmet safety sources.

Safety Seat Inspection
The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office - Community Policing Unit and Loudoun County Fire and Rescue will be providing child safety seat inspection and installations - free of charge!

Loudoun County Sheriff’s Child Identification Program
The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office - Community Policing Unit will provide permanent picture Child Identification Cards and take-home Child Identification Kits that assist in collecting information, fingerprints, photographs and DNA specimen that is kept at your home.

Loudoun County Fire-Rescue
Check out a real fire engine, meet the fire fighters and simulate proper escape techniques from a burning house.

Thanks to everyone who came out and participated in FitQuest 2007 on Saturday, May 19th. With beautiful weather, lots to do and a great turnout, this year’s was our best yet!

FitQuest Health Fair
Foot scanning, nutrional information, dental screenings…there was so much to learn at the Health Fair! Thanks to all vendors who came out and showcased their businesses.

FitQuest Activities
Outside, the Loudoun Inova Blood Mobile filled with people interested in getting their cholesterol measured and blood pressure taken while children enjoyed the ropes course, climbing wall and Kiddie Korner. Families enjoyed the breeze while taking out paddle boats and canoes on the lake. Joyful voices could be heard from the tennis courts and lawns as members tried to beat the pros and tried their best at target accuracy.

Meanwhile, inside, the group exercise room had a new class to try every half hour and people gathered on the racquetball courts, trying to beat the GM in squash, participating in table tennis challenges and challenging eacfh other to a game of racquetball.

Raffle prizes were drawn and awarded at the end of the day to a lucky few.

Overall, a great time was had by all. See you again at FitQuest 2008!
